dear people who use 'u' when you clearly mean 'you',
don't give me that bullshit that it's 'faster'. it is irritating, lazy, and stupid when you consider that you took the time to type out the long words both before and after your 'time-saving' u. if you're going to shorten one of the fastest, easiest, and most common words in the english language then why not just start replacing everything with retarded lols and b4s all over the place. it's a slippery slope, and you're diving headfirst down it, so now is the time to save yourself. also, don't you dare give me the 'this is how conversation is evolving' crap. this is purely an act of laziness and apathy, a.k.a. sloth, which is one of the seven deadly sins i might add. i hope you appreciate somebody who took the tiniest bit effort the next time you have to call 911 and they reach over and bother to pick up the phone. after all, laziness and lack of consideration for anything that inconveniences you is just the way people are evolving, right/
and the wonderful advent of predictive texting has meant that you only need to add two keystrokes to your sms. and the sms rates have gone down so far, free even, that the 'but every character counts' argument means about as much as as the cost of those extra two characters. this is not western union, folks. if i wanted to read something that looked like it was written for telegraph, i'd still have a telegraph.
every time you do this i lose respect for you forever. you become one of 'those people' and i promise you i look down on you for it. in a truly just society, you should be banned from using any form of electronic communication for one year and then only regain the privelege when you show that you can successfully type the easiest of second-person pronouns. further offences should result in a lifetime ban from electronic devices. period. you had your chance, and you blew it. tough.
but since that scenario doesn't sound likely, i am going to just start being a dick about it and interrupting conversations, texts, and message board posts to ask if you actually meant to type 'you' instead of 'u'. i hope that it is taken with the maximum ammount of offense.
'u' is a vowel, not a preposition,
brice
p.s. don't get all uppity that this is uncapitalized. i still used the shift key where appropriate but it just doesn't show up, as per the last post.
