Dear Dublin Airport Authority,
Congratulations. I'm writing to inform you that you've been selected as this year's winners of the "International No-Talent, Ass-Clown, Idiot of the year award" in the "Common Sense is not just for Common People" category.
At some point in history, you must have realized that a certain but small percentage of your passenger numbers are made up of domestic passengers, since there is a helpful sign at the Pier A immigration point that directs all domestic passengers into a wall. But thankfully, you came up with a simple solution: direct people into immigration anyway. Then let the system sort itself out.
So those people with EU passports get to stand in a fairly short line before walking through, but the rest of us, who have been living in this country for years and paying you an extortionate amount of money for the privilege (and useless card to prove it) get to stand in the "non-EU" line, with people coming from all corners of the world, and the resulting 20 minutes it takes to make it to the single desk processing these passports, only to have our documents checked like we were just arriving. And no mention of "I just came from a domestic flight" or "showing your boarding card from a domestic flight" manages to convince the agent that you actually never left the country. And the "helpful agent" you have working the line won't say anything about customs since "she isn't the police", and just directs people into a queue based on a sign they could read themselves.
No, you bravely stand as a barrier between possible illegal migrants (not immigrants, that might imply we started our day in a different country) and common sense. Thanks for wasting 15 minutes of my day and probably an otherwise usable page of my passport for this garbage.
Seriously, do three things:
1. Go to Cork and see how easy it is to open up an actual domestic lane. You'll find it actually requires less work than what you're doing right now.
2. Let the people with the very expensive GNIB cards use the EU line. We're paying for this shit, let's see some return off it.
3. Shape the fuck up. Your airport is a disgrace, and no amount of shiny, uncomfortable chairs will make it any better as long as you insist on looking at people's passports with your head up your ass.
Jesus Protestant Christ,
Brice.
